Geo-membrane is continues polymeric sheet, which is very flexible and is used as a barrier for liquids or vapors. These sheets are manufactured and fabricated in factor and transported the job.

PVC Geo-membrane is an effective and long lasting impervious sheet help to prevent the loss of water through seepage. PVC Geo-membrane acts as a barrier when lined in watercourses, reservoirs, ponds and other area where water is absorbed and lost through the soil. PVC geo-membrane is also used in the agricultural, construction and industrial sector. Since 1950, PVC geo-membrane has been extensively used globally for water conservation.

Furthermore, PVC geo-membrane is also used in construction industry for water proofing purposes. Due to PVC high strength polymer base, PVC geo-membrane is flexible and provides excellent three-dimensional elongation.

PVC geo-membrane lining are very effective as compared to other lining because it is easy to produce and most of its raw material are indigenous, that is why it posses batter physical, chemical and mechanical properties than PE and other lining. It has been use successfully in various countries like Canada ( PGI-PVC Geo-membrane institute) and United States of America ( refer to U.S.A department of interior Bureau of Reclamation)

  • Rec-ERC-95-01

  • Use of Geo-membrane in Bureau of Reclamation canals, reservoir and dam rehabilitations.

  • In the Bureau of Reclamation’s 35+years of Geo-membrane experience, PVC geo-membrane have proven especially effective where limited access, short down times, long haul distances and potential for freezing and thawing are factors.

  • First PVC experimentation in 1957.

  • PVC material of choice in 47 of 51 projects.

The water proof sheet shall be non-reinforced plasticized PVC to uniform thickness 7 surface texture. After manufacturing it shall have a range of chemical resistance of pH-2 to pH-13 with max. variation in tensile strength and elongation at yield of 20%.
